Payment Arrangement is a “My Account” Online Service that creates payment installments by dividing your past due balance over a time period, usually four months. While your Payment Arrangement is active, you must pay your installment amount and/or deposit amount, plus your current bill and late fees.

Customers must request Payment Arrangement on a past due balance before gas service is disconnected for non-payment. Customers are eligible for one Payment Arrangement every 12 months.

If you have a deposit, it will be divided into two or four monthly installments. During the heating season (November 1 through March 31), four balance due installments are offered. Between April 1 and October 31, two balance due installments are offered.

By clicking "I Agree," you are authorizing Nicor Gas to establish a Payment Arrangement for the past amount and/or deposit owed to Nicor Gas (this excludes any third-party charges) for the account registered with My Account for which you are requesting a Payment Arrangement. Further, you agree to make an immediate online payment for the payment arrangement amount(s).

For your Payment Arrangement to remain valid and in good standing, you must continue to make current bill payments in addition to the past-due balance and/or deposit amounts that have been calculated through the Nicor Gas My Account feature, as well as any late fees that have been incurred. Failure to meet these requirements will result in the cancellation of the Payment Arrangement and all past and current amounts being due immediately. Unauthorized use of Nicor Gas’ website and online services, including but not limited to unauthorized entry into Nicor Gas’ systems, misuse of passwords, or misuse of any information posted to a site, is strictly prohibited.

To the extent you use Nicor Gas’ online services, including but not limited to electronic bill presentment (bill view), electronic payment (one-time and AutoPay), Budget Plan enrollment, electronic alerts, electronic notifications, Payment Arrangement, and Sharing Program contributions, you understand, consent to and will adhere to the details, terms and conditions of these services as mandated and conveyed to you by Nicor Gas.

In order to use Nicor Gas’ online services you are required to complete the registration process by providing us with certain information. As part of this process you agree to furnish Nicor Gas with current, accurate and complete information. You agree to notify Nicor Gas immediately of any changes in your profile data. By enrolling to use Nicor Gas’ online services you authorize us to follow any payment or other instructions we receive through our online systems with respect to your account and/or information. By signing up for “paperless” electronic bill presentment (bill view), you explicitly acknowledge and agree that you will receive your Nicor Gas bill and related documents electronically and that printed versions will no longer be mailed to you. You also acknowledge and agree that you will receive other account related information by electronic mail at the e-mail address that you provide as part of your profile data. You further acknowledge that you are able to receive and access this information in electronic form and that in the event that you are unable for any reason to receive and access information electronically you will so inform Nicor Gas immediately.

You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password, ID or other secure codes and you agree that Nicor Gas has no obligations in that regard. Furthermore, you are entirely responsible for any and all activities that occur under your Nicor Gas account. You agree to notify Nicor Gas immediately upon your discovery of any unauthorized use of your account and any other breach of security. Nicor Gas will not be responsible for any loss you or anyone else may incur as a result of misuse of your password, ID, personal data, banking or financial information or Nicor Gas account either with or without your permission.

When you click on the “I Agree” button you indicate your understanding of and agreement with these terms and conditions. Further, by clicking “I Agree” you acknowledge that a binding agreement has been created between you and Nicor Gas with respect to the terms and conditions and all documents incorporated by reference therein. Nicor Gas reserves the right to modify the terms and conditions and other language on its website, including those relating to electronic bill presentment (bill view), electronic payment and other online services, at any time. Your continued use of these services and Nicor Gas’ website constitutes your agreement to all such terms, conditions and language.

Potential Disruption of Service

As a result of hardware or software failure, system capacity overload, damage from weather or other acts of God or war, interruption of power supplies or other utility service, strike or other stoppage of labor, you further acknowledge that there cannot be a guarantee that communications or transactions conducted online will be without error, timely or absolutely secure, and that there may be system or other failures that may limit your ability to use the online services as intended or at all.

Nicor Gas reserves the right to accept or deny your request to participate in any of its online services. Nicor Gas may discontinue or make changes in the information or online services described herein at any time without prior notice to you and without any liability to you. Nicor Gas reserves the right to terminate any or all online services without prior notice to you.

Limitation of Liability

BECAUSE OF THE POSSIBILITY OF HUMAN AND MECHANICAL ERROR, AS WELL AS OTHER FACTORS, THE WEBSITE AND ONLINE SERVICES (INCLUDING ALL INFORMATION CONTAINED ON THE WEBSITE) IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” NICOR GAS AND THIRD PARTY DATA PROVIDERS ARE NOT PROVIDING ANY REPRESENTATIONS AND WARRANTIES REGARDING THE WEBSITE AND ONLINE SERVICES, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTIBILITY, NON-INFRINGEMENT OF THIRD PARTY RIGHTS, FREEDOM FROM VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL CODE, OR FITNESS FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
