What you need to know about your new natural gas delivery rates
Commercial rates information
The Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) has approved a change in your Delivery Charges (the fees related to delivering natural gas to your home), effective October 15, 2009. This increase will add about $0.29 monthly to the average residential customer bill.
The rate change does not affect the Gas Cost, which is the natural gas commodity cost incurred by Nicor Gas and then passed along to customers without markup. By law, Nicor Gas does not profit on the Gas Cost.
Even with this change, Nicor Gas remains the lowest-cost provider among major Illinois natural gas utilities and is among the lowest-cost providers in the nation.
