It's the one fuel called "Natural"
In 2006 Americans used 21.7 trillion cubic feet of natural gas to warm their homes, cook hot meals and enjoy a nice warm shower. But there's more to that little blue flame than meets the eye. In fact, it turns out the little blue flame is actually "green." Natural gas is the cleanest burning of all the fossil fuels. When burned, it produces virtually no sulfur dioxide emissions and particulate matter and far lower levels of greenhouse gasses and nitrogen oxides than competing sources of energy such as oil and coal. Count on natural gas – it's clean-burning, reliable and green.
