Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) The Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity enhances Illinois' economic competitiveness by providing technical and financial assistance to businesses, local governments, workers and families. As the state's lead economic development agency, DCEO works to capitalize on Illinois' strengths as a center of transportation, manufacturing and technology development. The agency promotes the state's business-friendly policies, highly productive workers, and entrepreneurial spirit – attributes that helped Illinois win Site Selection magazine's Governor's Cup as the top state in the nation for business development.
Illinois Development Council The Illinois Development Council is a voluntary group of economic development professionals affiliated as a not-for-profit corporation for the purpose of furthering the development of the economic base of Illinois.
Metro Economic Growth Alliance of Chicago Economic development organizations from the 10 northeastern Illinois Chicago metropolitan area counties, World Business Chicago, and ComEd's Economic Development Department have formed the Metro Economic Growth Alliance of Chicago (MEGA Chicago). MEGA's mission is to grow the economy of northeastern Illinois through coordinated, effective business development.
