Nicor's Economic Development team can assist you with gathering additional resources and information from Nicor, the State of Illinois, regional economic development organizations, and local officials.

Nicor Gas Economic Development

• Supports economic development organizations and programs to attract and retain businesses in our service area
• Contributes to the positive business environment in communities by providing reliable, competitively priced natural gas service
• Provides energy experts to assist economic development clients
• Provides financial and volunteer support to local municipal and regional economic development organizations
• Offers education and assistance to municipal economic development programs
• Participates in promoting Illinois as a great place to do business

Whether you are marketing a building/site or assisting a client in an expansion/retention project, we ask that you contact us during your early planning stages for two important reasons:

• Gas service may not exist at the site you are considering. You need to understand the costs for bringing gas service from a nearby gas main, or possibly from several miles away.
• While gas service may exist at the facility, adding new processes or additional space may require a larger gas load than is currently available. A system upgrade has associated costs that you may be expected to pay.

To get started, please fill out the Economic Development Project Information Form to give us an indication of the size of your facility and your specific natural gas needs. Once we have this information, we can customize a solution for your business to assure ample gas load for your applications.
