Today Nicor announced the promotion of Karen K. Pepping (41) to vice president and controller for Nicor Inc. and Nicor Gas. As vice president, Pepping is responsible for all corporate accounting functions including tax, forecasting and research as well as investor relations.
Pepping joined Nicor in 2003 bringing nearly 20 years of experience in accounting and finance. In 2005, she was promoted to assistant vice president for Nicor Inc. and Nicor Gas. Prior to joining Nicor, Pepping was an assistant corporate controller at Wallace Computer Services, Inc. in Lisle as well as the former director of accounting at Tellabs, Inc. in Naperville.

Pepping is a certified public accountant and certified internal auditor. She earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Bradley University and her master’s in finance from DePaul University. Pepping is an active member of several executive level committees including capital management, expense control, financial disclosures and ethics. She currently resides in the city of Wheaton with her family.
