April 22, 2009 Naperville, IL – Nicor Gas announced today the opening of its new Yorkville regional facility. The new facility, located at 259 Commercial Drive, will house staffing from field operations, construction and maintenance, and meter reading.
"Nicor Gas has provided the Yorkville community with safe and reliable natural gas service for many years, as well as conducting yearly philanthropic activities in the city such as helping to clean up the Fox River through Nicor's Annual Volunteer Day," said Rocco D'Alessandro, Executive Vice President Operations for Nicor Gas. "This new regional facility has allowed us to consolidate some of our operations, providing optimal efficiency for our customers. As a company, we are pleased to become a member of the Yorkville business community and look forward to continuing to provide quality service to our customers."
The Yorkville regional facility will provide a number of enhanced benefits for managing field and system operations, as it is strategically located to service current and future population growth. The building is 18,700 square feet and utilizes environmentally efficient materials such as a white roof to reduce heat. The building also makes use of natural lighting through skylights and sensor-controlled faucets and high efficiency T5 lighting in most non-essential areas of the building.
