March 22, 2006 Today Nicor Inc. announced the promotion of Paul C. Gracey Jr. to senior vice president, general counsel and secretary for Nicor Inc. and Nicor Gas. Formerly a vice president, Gracey is responsible for legal affairs for Nicor Inc. and Nicor Gas.
Gracey joined Nicor in 2002, bringing nearly 20 years of legal experience - primarily in the energy industry. Prior to joining Nicor, he was vice president and general counsel for Midwest Generation in Chicago and prior to that he was vice president and general counsel for Edison Mission Energy Limited in London, England.

Gracey earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with distinction, from the University of Michigan in 1981 and a Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, in 1985. He also completed the Oxford senior executive finance programme at Templeton College, Oxford, England in 1998.
Gracey is a member of the American Bar Association, American Society of Corporate Secretaries, the Association of Corporate Counsel and also the American Gas Association, Legal Committee. He is licensed to practice law in Illinois and California.
