Naperville, Ill. – Nicor Inc. (NYSE: GAS) today unveiled its new corporate Web site, www.nicor.com. Completely redesigned, the site is now more user-friendly for residential and business customers of Nicor Gas, Nicor Inc.'s natural gas utility subsidiary.
From the new site, customers can now manage their Nicor Gas accounts, track their gas usage and find ways to prepare for higher gas costs. Visitors to the site can also learn more about new products and services available from Nicor Inc.'s subsidiary Nicor Services, while current and prospective shareholders will find a comprehensive Investors section. The site also includes a Career section which lists employment opportunities at the Nicor companies.
The site offers Nicor Gas' two million utility customers increased functionality and time-saving services. Web site enhancements include:
- A new "My Account" section, which offers customers the ability to view and update their account information, see their gas history, submit a meter read, start e-mail updates and find a payment center.
- A comprehensive section on natural gas costs, which includes timely information about current pricing and factors that influence natural gas costs. It also provides helpful information to manage higher gas costs expected this winter.
- A new "Commercial" section, where business customers can sign up for Positive Energy Online, a free service that provides technical support and research information.
- A new "Nicor in the Community" section, which highlights the company's long-standing philanthropic activities and community involvement.
