December 13, 2002 NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Nicor, Inc. (NYSE: GAS), a holding company, today announced a series of officer appointments and realignments of business units for Nicor and its wholly owned subsidiary Nicor Gas.
The executive appointments are as follows: Claudia Colalillo was appointed to Senior Vice President Human Resources and Corporate Communications for Nicor and Senior Vice President Human Resources and Customer Care for Nicor Gas; Daniel Dodge was appointed Senior Vice President Diversified Ventures and Corporate Planning for both Nicor and Nicor Gas; and Rocco D'Alessandro was appointed Senior Vice President Operations for Nicor Gas.
"Along with our new president Russ Strobel, these are the executive officers with oversight of the primary business functions at Nicor and Nicor Gas," said Tom Fisher, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for both Nicor and Nicor Gas. "These individuals are proven business leaders, with the strategic acumen to continue to strengthen Nicor's position. Strobel, Colalillo and D'Alessandro report to Fisher and Dodge reports to Strobel. Following are organizational changes that were made in line with the new officer appointments. (The list notes the officer and the business units that report to that individual.):
- Russ Strobel: finance and administration, legal, diversified ventures, and corporate planning for both Nicor and Nicor Gas;
- Claudia Colalillo: human resources and corporate communications for Nicor and human resources and customer care for Nicor Gas (customer care encompasses the call center, sales, marketing, community relations and gas transportation and billing services);
- Rocco D'Alessandro: operations, which includes customer services, natural gas distribution and supply, engineering and technical services and measurement;
- Dan Dodge: diversified ventures, corporate planning, market research and business intelligence for both Nicor and Nicor Gas.
Nicor also announced the executive appointments of Anthony McCain to Vice President Distribution and James L. Griffin to Assistant Vice President Customer Services. Both report to D'Alessandro. The company previously announced that its Board of Directors elected Paul Gracey Jr. as Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. Gracey, who joined the company Nov. 25, reports to Strobel.

Russ M. Strobel Russ M. Strobel is president of Nicor Inc. and Nicor Gas. He began with Nicor in December 2000 as executive vice president, general counsel and government relations. Before joining Nicor, Strobel, was a partner in the Chicago law firms of Jenner & Block and Altheimer & Gray. Prior to that, Strobel was a partner in the law firm of Friedman & Koven where he started his career as an associate.
Claudia J. Colalillo Claudia J. Colalillo is senior vice president human resources and corporate communications for Nicor, Inc. and for Nicor Gas she is senior vice president of human resources and customer care, which includes the call center, community relations, sales, marketing, and gas transportation and billing services. Her career began with Nicor in September of 1998 as vice president human resources. Prior to Nicor, Colalillo was senior vice president of human resources and organizational development for May & Speh.
Daniel R. Dodge Daniel R. Dodge is senior vice president diversified ventures, market research and corporate planning for Nicor Inc. and Nicor Gas. Dodge joined Nicor Gas in 1998. Prior to joining Nicor, Dodge was employed with MidCon Corp. in several executive capacities including vice president asset development.
Rocco J. D'Alessandro Rocco J. D' Alessandro is senior vice president operations of Nicor Gas. Since joining Nicor Gas in 1980, D' Alessandro has held numerous positions including accounting, customer inquiry center supervisor, sales and customer services manager, personnel director, credit supervisor, pressure and distribution area manager, assistant vice president new customer additions, assistant vice president customer care services, vice president customer services and vice president distribution services.
Anthony McCain Anthony McCain is vice president distribution for Nicor Gas. Previously, he was regional vice president distribution. He joined Nicor Gas as a supervisor in computer operations in 1986. He has held numerous positions including assistant vice president customer support, assistant vice president maintenance and assistant vice president energy delivery. In addition, he served as operations manager for the central, southern and northern regions, supervisor credit assistance, supervisor customer service request, supervisor operating and supervisor meter reading.
Paul Gracey, Jr. Paul Gracey, Jr. is vice president, general counsel and secretary of Nicor Gas and Nicor Inc. He brings 17 years of legal experience primarily in the energy field. Most recently he was vice president and general counsel for Midwest Generation and seven years prior to that position he was vice president and general counsel for Edison Mission Energy Ltd. in London, England.
James L. Griffin James L. Griffin is assistant vice president customer services for Nicor Gas. Most recently Griffin served as general manager customer response, manager operations, area manager operations, and general supervisor of the credit assistance center and customer service field representatives. He joined Nicor in 1985 and has held a number of positions including supervisor operating, supervisor meter reading, dispatcher, service mechanic and distribution and service helper. |
